Yahve-Jire Children’s Foundation has always been about more than meeting immediate needs.
Our vision is to help children move from vulnerability to stability, from stability to opportunity, and from opportunity to independence.
We want to see every child entrusted to our care grow into an adult who knows their worth, understands their purpose, has the tools to support themselves, and has the desire to give back.
The challenges facing Haiti are significant, but we believe that investing in children is an investment in the country’s future.
OUR FUTURE GOALS
1. Continue Providing a Safe and Loving Home
Our first responsibility is to ensure that the children in our care have a safe, stable, and loving place to call home.
We will continue providing food, shelter, clothing, daily care, and the family environment that has been at the heart of YJCF since its beginning.
2. Expand Educational Opportunities
Education remains one of our greatest priorities.
We want every child to have access to quality education appropriate to their age and abilities.
As our children grow, we hope to continue supporting opportunities for:
- Primary and secondary education
- Higher education
- Vocational training
- Professional development
- Life-skills education
- Career preparation
Our goal is to help each child discover their strengths and develop the skills necessary to pursue a meaningful future.
3. Support Young Adults as They Transition to Independence
Growing up is not the end of our responsibility.
We want to walk alongside our young adults as they transition from the children’s home into independent adulthood.
That may include support for college, vocational training, employment, housing, transportation, life skills, and other needs as they establish themselves.
We want their transition to be intentional rather than abrupt.
Our goal is not simply for children to leave the home. Our goal is for them to be prepared to thrive when they do.
4. Continue Providing Medical Care
We will continue seeking opportunities to provide medical, dental, and vision care for the children and the communities around them.
Our previous healthcare outreach has demonstrated the tremendous need for accessible care.
We hope to continue building relationships with medical professionals and teams who can help meet those needs.
5. Strengthen Spiritual Development
Faith will continue to be central to the life of YJCF.
We want our children to grow in their understanding of Scripture, prayer, worship, and their relationship with Jesus Christ.
Our hope is that they will develop a faith that becomes their own foundation as they grow into adulthood.
6. Invest in the Next Generation of Haiti
Ultimately, our greatest goal is multiplication.
We want to see children who have been given an opportunity grow into adults who create opportunities for others.
We want former YJCF children to become:
Leaders.
Teachers.
Professionals.
Parents.
Mentors.
Community members.
Servants.
And we hope they will carry forward the same spirit of generosity that changed Chedlin’s life.

We cannot predict what the future holds for Haiti.
But we know what we hope for the children.
We hope they will grow up safe.
We hope they will receive an education.
We hope they will know the love of Jesus.
We hope they will discover their God-given gifts and purpose.
We hope they will become independent adults.
And we hope they will use what they have been given to help others.
Because we believe that when you invest in one child, you are not only changing one life.
You are helping change the future of a family, a community, and a country.
THE STORY IS STILL BEING WRITTEN
In 2010, a small group of people traveled to Haiti to help after an earthquake.
They did not know that their trip would become a lifelong mission.
They did not know how many children they would meet.
They did not know how many lives would be changed.
They simply chose to help.
Today, the YJCF family continues to move forward with faith, hope, and a commitment to the children.
The story that began with one act of kindness is still being written.
